KENYA: Microlender Granted License to Accept DepositsFirst MFI in Kenya granted license by Central Bank to accept deposits (June 2009) Faulu Kenya Ltd. has become the first microfinance institution in Kenya to be granted a license by the Central Bank to accept deposits under the Microfinance Act that came into effect in May 2008.
